The RCMP Foundation manages the iconic RCMP brand through the Product Licensing Program under the Master License Agreement. We are proud to support charitable endeavours and community, member-focused initiatives through responsible brand stewardship leveraging licensing revenue.
RCMP Foundation: Our Role
The RCMP Foundation’s key responsibility is to manage the official RCMP Product Licensing Program as defined in the RCMP Master License Agreement (MLA). Our role is to ensure that any commercial and fundraising uses of protected RCMP marks, images, and insignia are authorized, well managed, and aligned with the values and priorities of the RCMP.
Our Mission
Support charitable initiatives through the donation of funds generated by a first-class, ethically responsible and well-managed licensing program that enhances and positively promotes the RCMP brand, both in Canada and around the world.
Charitable Mandate and Corporate Purpose
As a registered charity, the RCMP Foundation operates under a clear charitable mandate and corporate purpose. We exist to collect, manage, and administer licensing funds; assist the Commissioner of the RCMP in evaluating the use of the Force’s name, representations, marks, badges, and insignia; and apply those funds, in whole or in part, along with any related income, to support the development, advancement, and promotion of the RCMP and its public affairs initiatives.
In practice, we:
- Maintain oversight of the commercial use of RCMP names, badges, insignia, images and other marks, including in but not limited to, commercial and fundraising contexts.
- Manage funds generated through licensing and related programs.
- Direct those funds to initiatives that align with the RCMP’s charitable priorities, community engagement and brand.
Pillars of Focus
Led by our charitable mandate and supported by the MLA, the RCMP Foundation focuses its work around four core pillars:
- Community Relations & Public Affairs
- Member Well-Being
- Recruitment and Grass-Roots Programs
- Brand Excellence and Revenue Growth
These pillars help ensure that the licensing program and the funds it generates meaningfully support RCMP members, enhances public trust, and bolsters the RCMP’s presence in communities across Canada and internationally.

Fundamental Premise: Brand Integrity & Intellectual Property Stewardship
We are committed to protecting and protecting the integrity of the RCMP image through:
- Rigorous management of RCMP intellectual property, including names, crests, badges, insignia, images, and other protected marks.
- Comprehensive brand safeguards that ensure the RCMP is represented ethically, respectfully, and in a manner consistent with its mandate and values.
- Careful selection and ongoing oversight of all licensed partners and products to avoid misuse, misrepresentation, or reputational risk to the Force.
Through this stewardship, we make it possible for RCMP members and employees to leverage the world famous RCMP brand in compliant and impactful ways—whether for local fundraising, community engagement, or awareness initiatives—while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and public trust.
